Orange/cream male cat

🐾 Looking for a good indoor-only home for this sweet boy! 🐾
We found this orange boy about a week ago when he came up to our kitchen door meowing. I initially thought he was our cat, who is also orange! My daughter was able to catch him and bring him inside, and he immediately seemed pretty comfortable around people and indoors.
I’m not sure if he was previously someone’s indoor pet or if he had been outside for a while. We have tried to locate an owner but haven’t had any luck.
He is a very friendly cat who seems to really like people. He is mostly litter-box trained and definitely knows where the litter box is and how to use it. Our resident cat unfortunately does not like him and sometimes won’t even let him into the room where the litter box is, so I believe that is contributing to the occasional accident.
He seems interested in playing with our cat, so I think he could potentially do well with other friendly cats. He also seems to be okay with dogs as long as they don’t chase or run toward him.
He weighs around 9 lbs. I originally thought he might be under a year old, but the vet estimated that he is probably closer to 2 years old.
We took him to the vet a few days ago, and he is now: 🐾 Neutered
🐾 Up to date on vaccinations
🐾 Treated with flea/tick prevention
🐾 Microchipped (the chip has not been registered yet)
There is no rehoming fee. I will, however, ask for a vet reference to help make sure he is going to a safe, loving home.
I really don’t want to send him somewhere just to have him end up outside again. He is a sweet boy who seems to really enjoy having people around, and I’d love to find him a family who will give him the indoor home and attention he deserves. ❤️
