Welcome to Yer.pet.

Yer.pet is a platform designed to help people connect for responsible pet rehoming and to provide useful animal-care information.

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Yer.pet. By accessing or using Yer.pet, including creating an account, posting or responding to a listing, sending a message, or arranging a rehoming, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

When Yer.pet asks you to affirmatively agree to these Terms, such as during account registration or another site action, your acceptance confirms your agreement to them.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Yer.pet.

1. Who May Use Yer.pet

You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account or use Yer.pet to arrange the transfer or rehoming of an animal.

You are responsible for providing accurate account information and for activity occurring through your account.

Keep your login credentials secure. Do not share your password or use another person’s account without permission.

You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account so that you can receive account, listing, moderation, security, and other service-related communications.

2. Yer.pet Is a Platform

Yer.pet provides tools that allow users to post listings, search for pets, communicate with other users, and share animal-related information.

Yer.pet does not own, possess, inspect, transport, sell, purchase, adopt, foster, or rehome animals listed by users.

Yer.pet is not a party to any agreement, transfer, payment, meeting, or other arrangement made between users.

Yer.pet does not act as an animal shelter, rescue organization, breeder, broker, veterinarian, escrow service, transportation provider, or guarantor of any user or animal.

Users are responsible for deciding whether another person, animal, listing, or proposed rehoming arrangement is appropriate.

Yer.pet is not obligated to mediate disputes between users.

3. Pet Listings

Listings must be truthful, accurate to the best of the user’s knowledge, and made in good faith.

You may only list an animal if you own the animal or otherwise have the legal authority to arrange its rehoming.

You agree not to knowingly conceal or misrepresent important information about an animal, including its health, behavior, age, sex, vaccination status, spay/neuter status, ownership, history, condition, or known special needs.

You may not list an animal whose sale, transfer, possession, or rehoming would violate applicable law.

Listings are also subject to the Pet Listing Rules, which form part of these Terms when you submit a listing.

4. Rehoming Fees — Maximum $50

Yer.pet is intended for responsible rehoming, not commercial animal sales.

A reasonable rehoming fee of no more than $50 may be requested.

A modest rehoming fee can help discourage impulsive or inappropriate inquiries and recognize some of the costs involved in caring for an animal. The $50 maximum is intended to allow a reasonable rehoming fee while maintaining a clear distinction between rehoming an animal and selling animals for profit.

Listings involving fees above $50 are not permitted.

Listings that appear primarily intended for commercial animal sales, breeding, brokering, resale, or profit may be rejected or removed regardless of the fee stated in the listing.

Attempts to evade the fee limit through deposits, mandatory purchases, separate charges, or similar arrangements are prohibited.

5. Never Send Money in Advance

Yer.pet does not process, collect, hold, guarantee, or provide escrow services for payments between users.

Do not send money in advance to another Yer.pet user.

If a permitted rehoming fee is requested, it should be handled when the parties meet and the animal is actually transferred.

Requests for deposits, reservation fees, shipping fees, transportation charges, gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or other advance payments should be treated with caution.

If someone pressures you to send money before meeting the person and seeing the animal, do not proceed.

6. Meeting and Rehoming Safely

Users are responsible for taking reasonable precautions when communicating with or meeting someone through Yer.pet.

Yer.pet cannot verify every person you may interact with. You are responsible for using reasonable care to protect your own safety whenever communicating, meeting, or making arrangements with others through the site.

When practical, meet initially in a safe location appropriate for the animal. Consider bringing another person, telling someone you trust where you are going, and limiting unnecessary disclosure of personal information.

Take reasonable precautions before inviting someone you do not know into your home or entering another person’s home.

Neither party is required to complete a rehoming.

If you are uncomfortable with the person, circumstances, animal, information provided, or proposed arrangement, do not proceed.

7. Put the Animal’s Welfare First

There is a living animal at the center of every rehoming.

People rehoming animals should make reasonable efforts to find an appropriate home rather than simply transferring the animal to the first person willing to take it.

Prospective adopters should ask appropriate questions about the animal and, when relevant, request available veterinary, vaccination, or other records.

People rehoming pets are encouraged to ask prospective adopters reasonable questions about their home, experience with animals, other pets, and plans for caring for the animal.

Neither party should feel pressured to complete a rehoming that does not appear appropriate for the animal.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use Yer.pet to:

• Commit fraud, deceive other users, or impersonate another person.
• List stolen animals or animals you do not have authority to rehome.
• Conduct or promote commercial animal sales, breeding operations, brokering, or resale.
• Evade the $50 rehoming-fee limit.
• Promote animal fighting, cruelty, neglect, exploitation, or other illegal activity.
• Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or abuse another user.
• Send spam or unrelated commercial advertising.
• Attempt to obtain passwords, financial information, identification documents, or other sensitive information through deception.
• Upload malicious software or attempt to interfere with the security or operation of Yer.pet.
• Post knowingly false, fraudulent, deceptive, or materially misleading information.
• Post content that infringes another person’s copyright, intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights.
• Use Yer.pet in violation of applicable law.
• Use Yer.pet in a way that reasonably places another person or animal at unnecessary risk.

9. User Content

You retain ownership of photographs, descriptions, messages, and other original content that you submit to Yer.pet.

By publicly posting content on Yer.pet, you give Yer.pet a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, reproduce, resize, format, display, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate Yer.pet, display and promote the relevant listing, and promote the Yer.pet service.

You represent that you own or otherwise have the right to submit the content you post.

You are responsible for the content you submit and for ensuring that your content does not violate another person’s rights.

If you believe content posted on Yer.pet uses your photo, text, or other material without permission, please contact us and identify the content. We may remove or restrict access to material we reasonably believe infringes another person’s rights.

10. Moderation and Removal

Yer.pet may review listings before publication.

Yer.pet may reject, hide, suspend, remove, or require changes to listings, content, or accounts that violate these Terms, the Pet Listing Rules, applicable law, or the purpose and safety of the community.

Yer.pet may also take reasonable moderation action when content or activity appears fraudulent, abusive, unsafe, misleading, inappropriate for the service, or potentially harmful to people or animals.

Yer.pet is not obligated to publish or continue hosting any particular listing or content.

Moderation decisions may be made based on the information reasonably available to Yer.pet at the time and do not constitute a guarantee about a user, animal, listing, or situation.

11. Reports

Users may report listings or behavior that appears suspicious, unsafe, fraudulent, abusive, or inconsistent with Yer.pet’s rules.

Yer.pet may review reports and take action it considers appropriate, but submitting a report does not guarantee a particular action or outcome.

Yer.pet is not an emergency service.

Immediate threats, suspected animal cruelty, theft, abuse, or other potentially criminal conduct should be reported to the appropriate authorities rather than relying solely on Yer.pet.

12. Animal and User Information

Yer.pet cannot independently guarantee the identity, honesty, reliability, background, intentions, or representations of users.

Yer.pet also cannot guarantee an animal’s ownership, breed, age, health, vaccination status, medical history, temperament, behavior, suitability, legal status, or other characteristics.

Information in listings generally comes from the users who submit it.

A listing’s approval or continued presence on Yer.pet does not mean Yer.pet has independently verified or endorsed the user, animal, or information contained in the listing.

You are responsible for asking appropriate questions, reviewing available information and records, meeting the animal when appropriate, and making your own decision before completing a rehoming.

13. Animal-Care Information

Articles, guides, posts, comments, and other animal-related informational material on Yer.pet are provided for general informational purposes.

Information on Yer.pet is not a substitute for professional veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or advice when veterinary care is appropriate.

If an animal appears injured, seriously ill, poisoned, or in another emergency situation, seek appropriate veterinary assistance rather than relying on information from Yer.pet.

14. No Guarantee of Results

Yer.pet does not guarantee that:

A pet will find a home.

A user will find the pet they are seeking.

Another user will respond to a message.

A listing will remain available.

A particular person will be suitable to receive an animal.

A particular animal will be suitable for a prospective home.

A rehoming will be successful or permanent.

Information supplied by another user will be accurate or complete.

A user will comply with an agreement or representation made to another user.

15. Third-Party Services, Links, and Advertising

Yer.pet may use, display, or link to services operated by third parties, including mapping services, login providers, social-sharing services, advertising providers, and external websites.

Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, and practices.

Yer.pet does not control and is not responsible for third-party websites or services.

The appearance of an advertisement, external link, product, service, organization, or other third-party content on Yer.pet does not by itself constitute an endorsement or guarantee by Yer.pet.

16. Privacy

Yer.pet’s collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

By using Yer.pet, you acknowledge that information you intentionally place in public listings or public portions of your profile may be visible to other people.

Do not include sensitive personal information in public listings unless it is genuinely necessary and you are comfortable making it public.

17. Service Communications

By maintaining a Yer.pet account, you agree that Yer.pet may send you communications reasonably necessary to operate the service.

These may include account verification, password resets, listing submission and moderation notices, messages, safety or security notices, policy updates, and other service-related communications.

Service-related messages are different from optional promotional or marketing communications.

18. Availability of the Service

Yer.pet may change, update, restrict, suspend, or discontinue features of the service at any time.

Yer.pet does not guarantee that the website or any particular feature will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every device or browser.

Site maintenance, technical problems, third-party outages, security concerns, or other circumstances may temporarily affect availability.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Yer.pet is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Yer.pet does not make warranties or guarantees regarding individual users, animals, listings, communications, rehoming arrangements, third-party services, or outcomes.

Yer.pet does not warrant that information supplied by users will be accurate, complete, current, or reliable.

Nothing in these Terms limits any warranty or right that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.

20. Your Responsibility and Assumption of Risk

You are responsible for your use of Yer.pet and for decisions you make based on listings, messages, profiles, photographs, records, or other user-generated information.

Your interactions, communications, meetings, transportation arrangements, transfers, payments, and rehoming activities with other users are undertaken at your own risk.

To the extent permitted by law, you assume the risks associated with interacting with people and animals you encounter through Yer.pet, including risks of personal injury, property damage, financial loss, fraud, misrepresentation, animal behavior, or other harm arising from people, animals, or circumstances that Yer.pet does not control.

You are responsible for evaluating other users and animals, asking appropriate questions, reviewing available information, taking reasonable safety precautions, and deciding whether to proceed with any interaction or rehoming.

You are also responsible for complying with animal-control, licensing, vaccination, ownership, transfer, transportation, wildlife, and other laws and regulations that apply to you or the animal involved.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Yer.pet and its owner or operator will not be responsible for losses, injuries, disputes, damages, expenses, or other consequences arising from or related to interactions, communications, meetings, transfers, payments, transportation, or other arrangements between users.

This includes matters involving animals, animal behavior, ownership disputes, meetings between users, transportation, payments, property, representations made by users, inaccurate listing information, or decisions to transfer or accept an animal.

Yer.pet is not responsible for the acts or omissions of users or other third parties that Yer.pet does not control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or limited.

22. Responsibility for Your Conduct

You are responsible for your own listings, content, communications, conduct, and arrangements made through Yer.pet.

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for claims, losses, or liabilities resulting from your violation of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, your infringement of another person’s rights, or information or content that you submit to Yer.pet.

You may not attempt to hold Yer.pet responsible for commitments, promises, representations, payments, or arrangements made solely between you and another user.

23. Account Suspension or Termination

Yer.pet may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account that violates these Terms or other site rules, creates unreasonable risk for other users or animals, abuses the service, repeatedly submits prohibited content, engages in suspected fraud, or interferes with operation of the site.

Yer.pet may also restrict the ability of an account to post, message, or use particular features when reasonably necessary for moderation or safety purposes.

You may stop using Yer.pet at any time.

Termination or suspension of an account does not require Yer.pet to restore removed listings or content.

24. Changes to These Terms

Yer.pet may update these Terms as the service, its features, policies, or applicable requirements change.

When material changes are made, Yer.pet will update the revision date on this page and may provide additional notice through the website or by email.

Where required by law or when Yer.pet determines that additional consent is appropriate, users may be asked to affirmatively accept revised Terms.

Continued use of Yer.pet after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If you do not agree to revised Terms, you should stop using Yer.pet.

25. General Terms

These Terms, together with the Pet Listing Rules and any other policies expressly incorporated into them, constitute the terms governing your use of Yer.pet.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

Yer.pet’s failure to enforce a provision of these Terms on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce that provision or another provision later.

Headings are provided for convenience and do not alter the meaning of these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment relationship, agency relationship, or fiduciary relationship between Yer.pet and its users.

Rights and obligations that by their nature should continue after an account is closed or these Terms cease to apply will survive to the extent necessary to give them effect.
